Kasangati Court Bids Farewell to Chief Magistrate Kainza and Magistrate Nyakairu
Judicial officers, prosecutors and staff at Kasangati Chief Magistrate’s Court have paid tribute to outgoing Chief Magistrate Beatrice Kainza and Magistrate Edgar Nyakairu, commending their leadership, professionalism and contributions to improving justice delivery and reducing case backlog.

The Kasangati Chief Magistrate's Court has held a farewell luncheon in honour of outgoing Chief Magistrate Beatrice Kainza and Magistrate Edgar Nyakairu.

Judicial officers and court staff praised Kainza for her four-year tenure, describing her leadership as compassionate, inclusive and instrumental in fostering teamwork within the court.

"Her approach helped the court exceed performance targets," judicial officers said.

Staff also credited Kainza for championing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), noting that the initiative significantly reduced case backlog and enabled faster settlement of disputes.

Prosecutors from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions commended her people-centred approach to justice and her commitment to collaboration among justice sector actors.

Magistrate Edgar Nyakairu was equally praised for his professionalism, integrity and commitment to dispensing justice without fear or favour. Staff members highlighted his diligence, strong work ethic and leadership qualities, which they said contributed significantly to the effective administration of justice at the court.

Speakers at the event described both judicial officers as dedicated public servants who had strengthened service delivery and promoted efficiency during their time at Kasangati Court.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting session and the presentation of gifts to the two officers in recognition of their service and contributions to the court and the wider justice sector.

As of the time of the farewell, it had not yet been announced where Chief Magistrate Kainza and Magistrate Nyakairu would be transferred.

The send-off comes amid ongoing efforts by the Judiciary of Uganda to improve access to justice through judicial reforms, enhanced case management and the promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms across courts in the country.
